Where are your birdhouses made?
All of our birdhouses are handcrafted in North Carolina, where we take pride in traditional woodworking and Southern craftsmanship. Each birdhouse is carefully built by hand, not mass-produced, ensuring quality and attention to detail in every piece.
What type of wood do you use?
We use 100% untreated cedar wood — a natural, durable material that’s ideal for outdoor birdhouses. Cedar naturally resists rot, moisture, and insects, so it lasts for years without the need for paints or chemical finishes.
Why is untreated cedar better for birds?
Untreated cedar is safe and non-toxic. Birds are sensitive to chemicals, so we never use paints, stains, or sealants inside our birdhouses. The natural wood allows for proper ventilation, helps regulate temperature, and provides a rough surface for fledglings to climb when leaving the nest.
Can I paint or stain my birdhouse?
You can! If you do paint, use non-toxic, water-based paint only on the outside and allow it to fully cure before placing outdoors.
Are your birdhouses eco-friendly?
Absolutely. Our birdhouses are made from sustainably sourced cedar, and we avoid all harmful chemicals, paints, and plastics. Each piece is handmade with respect for both birds and the environment.
